Red Bull and KTM to no longer continue the Super-Moto Junior Euro Cup
Following a successful three-year partnership, Red Bull and KTM have reached a mutual decision to discontinue the Supermoto Junior Euro-Cup as of the coming season.
The concept of the Super-Moto competition to promote up-and-coming junior talent was established with the goal of discovering talented young riders and to accompany them on their way to professional motor sport. Despite the successful realisation of this idea and the exemplary commitment of all sponsors and partners, KTM has decided that in the future it will concentrate on direct sporting competition together with its competitors.
In the future KTM will continue to lend support to young riders in national and international Super-Moto sport competition. The intense relationship with riders like World Champion Bernd Hiemer, who in 2007, was also closely involved in the development activities also agrees with this idea.
"Together with our long-term partner Red Bull, we have been able to offer training for more advanced racing categories to a number of Super-Moto talents during the last three years " explained KTM Motor Sports Director Pit Beier. "Riders like René Esterbauer today operate successfully in the top classes of competition at national and international level," he underlined. "My personal thanks also go to all the sponsors and partners who contributed to making this series a professional and successful cup competition for up-and-coming talent," concluded the Motor Sports director.
